The Colosseum or Roman Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre is an elliptical amphitheatre in the center of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering.Capable of seating 50,000 spectators.the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. As well as the gladiatorial games, other public spectacles were held there, such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine.

It has been estimated that about 500,000 people and over a million wild animals died in the Colosseum games.

Although in the 21st century it stays partially ruined because of damage caused by devastating earthquakes and stone-robbers, the Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and its breakthrough achievements in earthquake engineering. It is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions and still has close connections with the Roman Catholic Church, as each Good Friday the Pope leads a torchlit "Way of the Cross" procession that starts in the area around the Colosseum.

The Colosseum's original Latin name was Amphitheatrum Flavium, often anglicized as Flavian Amphitheater. The building was constructed by emperors of the Flavian dynasty, hence its original name, after the reign of Emperor Nero.

'JORDAN' Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield Price

Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield Price (born on 22 May 1978), also known as Jordan, is a former English glamour model, television personality and businesswoman. Her personal life is regularly featured in British tabloids and celebrity-based magazines.Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield was born and raised in Brighton, England. Her maternal grandmother is Jewish. She took the surname Price after her mother remarried following the split from her biological father when she was a child. Price has an older brother named Daniel and a younger half sister, Sophie Price. She also attended secondary school at Blatchington Mill Secondary School which she later revisited for a TV show called "With a Little Help from My Friends".

Her decision to start modelling came after a friend suggested she have some professional photographs done. The pictures were sent to a modelling agency in London, and to her surprise, the agency invited her into their studios for a photo shoot and to discuss a contract. She began appearing on Page 3 of the The Sun newspaper (topless modelling). Despite frequent appearances on Page 3 and in men's lifestyle magazines, Jordan was insecure about the size of her breasts, believing that breast implants would make her look better. Despite protests from friends and family, Jordan underwent the operation, increasing her cup size from a B to an F. During the 7 June 2001, British General Election, Jordan ran as a candidate in Stretford and Urmston under her real name using the slogan: 'For a Bigger and Betta Future'. As part of her comical election campaign, she promised free breast implants, more nudist beaches, and a ban on parking tickets. In the end, Jordan won 713 votes, 1.8% of the votes cast.In an attempt to cross over from modelling to other areas, Price auditioned for a part on the television series Baywatch in 1998, guest presented The Big Breakfast and played herself in an episode of Dream Team.

Price embarked on several brief relationships with celebrities and sports stars including footballers Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke, singer Gareth Gates, and the TV Gladiator 'Ace' (real name Warren Furman). Jordan had a much publicised relationship with Dane Bowers of the boy band Another Level. She had an abortion after discovering he had cheated on her.

On 27 May 2002, she gave birth in Brighton to her first son, Harvey. Harvey's father is the former footballer Dwight Yorke. Jordan has said she had intended to have at least one birth shown live over the Internet, but she later decided to keep it private. He was found to be blind, having a condition known as septo-optic dysplasia, meaning that the development of his optic nerve was unpredictable. As he has matured, she has also discovered that he is on the autistic spectrum, gains weight easily, and finds walking difficult.

In 2003, Price was treated for cancer. She had a leiomyosarcoma on her finger and the tumour was removed at a Nuffield Hospital near her Brighton home.

In February 2005, Price announced that she was five months pregnant, with Peter Andre's child. Price gave birth in Westminster, London, by Caesarean section to her second child, a 5lb 13oz (2,636 g) boy named Junior Savva Andreas Andre, on 13 June 2005. On 10 September 2005, she married Andre at Highclere Castle, Hampshire. In July 2006, it was announced that she had suffered a miscarriage. On 29 June 2007, Price gave birth to her third child, a daughter named Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther Andre.

In December 2007, Price underwent surgery in the U.S. to reduce the size of her breast implants and also had rhinoplasty. However, she was not happy with the results of her breast implants, so returned to Beverly Hills, California in July 2008 for corrective surgery. She returned to the UK five days later, showing off much smaller breasts, a size 32C.

On 15 May 2009, Andre and Price announced that they were separating after three and a half years of marriage.

In a TV interview with Piers Morgan in July 2009, Price claimed that their break-up was partly due to Andre's jealousy over her relationship with dressage trainer Andrew Gould, which she claimed was entirely platonic. However the final nail came when she was photographed in a Bristol nightclub after they had agreed that they would not go out without each other. She also revealed that she had recently miscarried.

As of July 2009, Price has been dating cage fighter and former Hollyoaks actor Alex Reid.

In September 2009, while refuting tabloid reports that Alex Reid had been involved in an alleged simulated rape scene in the film Killer Bitch, Price claimed that she had previously been raped by a "famous celebrity", but had not reported the incident. After making the claim it was reported that she was contacted by Suffolk Police, despite Price's insistence that she would "absolutely never" reveal who the attacker was. However, the force revealed that they had not contacted Price: "No allegation of rape has been made and Miss Price will not be making a statement to police."

Jordan began 2004 by appearing (as Katie Price which she prefers to be known while not modelling) on the reality TV series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, alternately falling out with John Lydon and flirting in the jungle with singer Peter Andre whom she eventually married. She appeared in several Bushtucker trials, including one where she had to brave a tank full of small, harmless jellyfish for points. Although she performed well, she gave up on account of the creatures becoming trapped in her bikini, prompting her to drag herself out of the water in hysterics. Price appeared on Top Gear's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car on 23 May 2004. She completed the lap in 1min 52secs. She also made a cameo appearance playing herself in an episode of the television drama series Footballers' Wives and appeared in the programme Jordan Gets Even for Five.

In summer 2005, Jordan was one of many guest hosts of the first series of The Friday Night Project. In December 2005 she released an exercise fitness DVD The Jordan Workout featuring "The Juice Master" Jason Vale.

Price and Andre released a duets album on 27 November 2006 titled A Whole New World, with all proceeds going to their chosen charities affiliated with the many health conditions of her eldest son and as a father figure to her son, Harvey. The album debuted at #20 in the UK album chart and achieved platinum status. She Also appeared in Peter Andre's music video, The Right Way.To coincide with her appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! earlier in the year, Price released the first of three autobiographies – Being Jordan – in May 2004. Initially turned down by the mainstream publishing houses after demanding a £1 million advance, she was eventually signed up by small independent publisher John Blake, a former tabloid journalist, for £10,000 plus royalties. In a departure from industry norms, she conducted a 10 day book signing tour which provoked enough interest—contrary to expectations, almost exclusively female—to propel her to first position in the Nielsen BookScan hardback sales chart and to sell 97,090 copies in little over a year and over one million, as of January 2007.

Her second autobiography – Jordan: A Whole New World – detailing her wedding and family life - reached number two in the hardback general category, selling 198,105 copies by 1 April 2006. Price's third autobiography Pushed to the Limit was released in February 2008.

Her first ghostwritten novel, Angel, about a young woman who becomes a model, was published in June 2006, and sold 300,000 copies in six weeks.

Her second ghostwritten novel, Crystal, about a young woman's efforts to become a singer, sold 159,407 copies during the first three months after its release in June 2007. All four books were ghostwritten by Rebecca Farnworth.

In 2006 Price signed a £300,000 advance with Random House for Katie Price's Perfect Ponies, a series of children's books, with the first 6 released in 2007. Three more books have been released throughout 2008. A title from that series, My Pony Care Book, was nominated for the WH Smith's Children's Book of the Year. In 2008, she released a new children's book series entitled Mermaids & Pirates, with six in the series. Four more are expected for release in April 2008.

Price continues to write a regular advice column in OK! magazine.

In 2009, Price released a novel entitled Sapphire which has been NO1 on the hardback fiction chart for 4 consecutive weeks and sold 42,215 copies in its first two weeks in the UK alone. In October 2003, Price appeared in an advertising campaign for the supermarket chain Kwik Save. To publicise the chain's promotion to cut the prices of their leading lines in half, Price was sawn in half by magician Peter McCahon.

In November 2006, Price launched The Katie Price Lingerie Collection in conjunction with Panache, available exclusively at Asda stores, as well as a follow-up jewellery deal with Argos.

In 2007, Price was announced as the new face of Foxy Bingo and launched a hair care range at Superdrug. She also brought out her first perfume, 'Stunning', in August. Her second perfume, 'Besotted', was released in September 2008. November 2007 saw Price releasing her 'Jordan' hair care electrical range at Superdrug. There was a hairdryer, straighteners and curlers. She released a second, similar range in November 2008 under the name 'Katie Price', to somewhat differing design.

In 2008, Price signed a deal with Derby House to launch her equestrian range named 'KP Equestrian'. On March 23, Price launched her springwear of KP Equestrian as well as KP Pony, which is for children.

In 2008, Price was refused admission to Guards Polo Club for the most prestigious day in the international Polo Season and a highlight of the British Social Season, the Hurlingham Polo Cartier International match for the Coronation Cup, presented by HRH Prince Charles. She attempted to circumvent this by buying a table at the Chinawhite marquee for £6,000 through her agent, but this was refused as well. A statement said "Jordan has been told she is not welcome. Polo is very prestigious and there are certain names they want there and others they definitely don’t. Jordan is still too 'chavvy' as far as Cartier is concerned. Having Jordan there just wouldn’t be in keeping with Cartier’s image. If she turns up she will not be allowed access".

In 2009 Price was named as the Patron of a charity polo match that was played at an Estate, near Epping, Essex. She was photographed arriving by helicopter, wearing a mini-dress and stiletto heels. Ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers and criminal Jack Tweed also attended.30In October 2006, an article was published in The Daily Mail called The Chav Rich List. Price and her husband Peter Andre were ranked at #2, second only to David and Victoria Beckham.

In 2006 the famous private bank Coutts & Co (bankers to the British Royal Family and to the rich and famous of British Society) refused to accept Price as a client, in spite of her estimated wealth. Coutts are known to be extremely selective in whom they accept as customers and their criteria for acceptance is not solely based on their well-known requirement that their clients must have at least £500,000 in 'disposable funds' - not including houses.

In 2009 it was reported she had earned £6.5 million with £4.5 million earned the previous year taking her total wealth to a reported £40 million. Price has raised over £1 million for Vision Charity.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)

A diffrent view to propose the thouht and actually protest so loudly, so that the whole world can actually hear and listen.
The thought here by is so emphatic that it might even seem a bit vulgar but the best way to protest seems absolutely wonderful.
The idea is that the models here by are saying emphatically that they will prefer to be in there own skins rather then in the skin of an animal.  See for your self.
There is nothing obscene as such in it, Probably thats the best way a Human being can present herself\himself, seems like i have to be gender negative to seek through this one. Thanks god the models did not had the scribble on them ' Birthday suits sponsered by ..........'
Just joking have fun enjoy the protestful pics.

The Most disgraceful moment of Cricket ever

On February 1, 1981, Australia were playing New Zealand in the third final of the World Series Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Kiwis needed six runs off the last ball to tie the match. Chappell, the then Australian captain, ordered his brother Trevor to bowl the final ball under-arm to prevent New Zealand’s Brian McKechnie from hitting a six. When Trevor delivered it, the shocked batsman just tapped the ball and threw his bat in disgust.

Kiwi captain Geoff Howarth ran out onto the field to argue with the umpires, but since under-arm bowling was not specifically banned at that time, his protest went in vain. The episode raised a trans-Tasman storm, with New Zealand Prime Minister Robert Muldoon saying that it was appropriate the Aussies should have been dressed in yellow (slang for cowardly) and his Australian counterpart Malcolm Fraser exclaiming that the incident was contrary to the traditions of cricket. The ICC quickly stepped in to officially prohibit under-arm bowling.

Chappell was severely reprimanded by the Australian Cricket Board, but he still had the last laugh, walking away with the man of the series award.
